Rob Roy, a 25+ year veteran of the financial market, heads a growing team of analysts and trading educators at Elliott Wave Options. As the Chief Trading Strategist, he brings a lifetime of real-world trading experience. Rob couples this with a unique ability to impart seemingly complex information in a manner that even the most novice trader can understand. Rob is primarily responsible for the Trade Alerts generated for clients including market analysis and case study selection.

From golf pro to trader

Following a 13-year career as a PGA Golf Professional, Rob entered the world of finance by forming an independent financial advisory firm in the mid 90’s. In the process of getting his securities licenses, he discovered the wealth-building power of the financial markets. A desire to do more for his clients, to go above and beyond the traditional, prompted Rob to embark on a journey into the world of options trading. It was his ambition to educate as many people as possible that led Rob literally around the world teaching seminars and sharing his vast knowledge of options.

A wealth of experience in options trading

Rob has been trading since the early-1990’s primarily focused on but not limited to stocks, bonds, options, futures, currencies and commodities.

This began with an initial focus on fundamental investing for both himself and his financial advisory clients, then extended to technical analysis and an interest in the power of options.

Eventually Rob decided that option trading was his passion and has been actively trading and educating on options almost exclusively since the late 1990s. Rob has experience with many trading approaches as well as many popular online trading platforms and technical analysis systems.

Over time his experience lead him to use Elliott Wave analysis as a central component of his own proprietary options trading strategies.

A passion for educating a global audience.

Rob has been an educator for over 20 years, beginning as the Lead Securities Instructor for the Florida School of Insurance in 1998.

Since 2001, Rob has been lecturing and presenting at leading Options education seminars and conferences in the United States, Asia and Europe.

Since 2009 Rob has added Trade Alerts to his educational offering as he found that experience was far more valuable and powerful in contributing the likelihood of a trader’s ability to be successful.
